How about rice?

While it may be proper in Thai culture to leave a little of each dish at the end of a meal, does this also apply to rice? I have learned that rice is almost a sacred food that no one should waste at all. Should one waste rice, Thais abhor this. So, so this rule apply to rice itself? Should I just leave a little at the end of the meal anyway? I am quite curious. Thank you.

Hi - Thais also seem to find it extremely rude to finish off a dish. It appears that at least a little of each dish should be left at the end of a meal. Forget your clean-plate-club training!
